Lesson SIX

This week’s art lesson focused on the entire portrait, summarizing each individual feature that I previously worked on into a single piece, but this time using a grid system. During the Renaissance, masters used grids in order to transfer their sketches into other works (ex. frescoes and large scale artwork).

At last, I have assembled all of the features into a single portrait. This was nothing short of a messy process, I hadn’t worked with grids in awhile and my portrait ended up being much smaller than expected, which left very little room for intricacy. Regardless, I had fun sketching and putting all of my other lessons together.
