My (W)RENAISSANCE
Hi, I’m Wren!
I’m a 16 year old student and artist with a passion for Renaissance art. I find the genre particularly inspiring, with its focus on realism, perspective, and the human form. Artists like da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael mastered techniques such as light and shadow to create emotional responses to their work. The darker, more macabre side of the Renaissance, with its eerie and unsettling themes, is intriguing to me for its ability to evoke strong emotions. Recently, I've begun to explore Renaissance art styles in my personal work and portfolio. It's been exciting to see how incorporating these techniques makes my art more interesting. I’ve spent my summer studying the art and artists of the Renaissance, and integrating more of their influence into my artwork.
12 Dates with the greats
My hope is to inspire a love of Renaissance art in other teens by making it engaging and accessible.
To accomplish this, I researched 12 influential artists of the period and built individual Dating Profiles.
I then visited their artwork in person, and dished on my “Dates with the Greats.”

TRAVEL
I set out to find some of the most inspiring and iconic pieces of Renaissance art in the United States. Luckily, I didn’t have to travel far. New York, NY and Washington, DC are both home to some incredible works from Renaissance greats like Michaelangelo, da Vinci, Titian, and my favorite, Caravaggio.
Of course, we had some fun outside of the museums too!
